Try our Vanishing Oatmeal Cookie Recipe!

Just in time for one of the busiest months to celebrate both Black History and Lovers Day! Treat yourself, family and friends while sharing stories of Black excellence and love. This recipe is easy, under an hour prep and cooking time. It can be made diabetic friendly by substituting the Sugar for Monkfruit, Date Sugar or Stevia. Substitute the flour for Gluten-free baking flour.


Yields: 2 dozen

Prep Time: 10 mins

Total Time: 25 mins

Kitchen Aides

  • 2 Medium Bowls for Mixing

  • Large Spoon, teaspoons, tablespoons

  • Small Pot to Warm Coconut Oil

  • Parchment Paper

  • Cookie Sheet


  • 1½ cups Flour

  • ¾ teaspoon Baking Soda

  • 1½ teaspoon Cinnamon

  • ½ teaspoon Salt

  • 1½ cup Brown Sugar

  • 1/3 cup Coconut Oil (melted), PLUS

  • 1 teaspoon Coconut Oil

  • 3 tablespoons Water

  • ½ cup Applesauce

  • 1½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract

  • 2 cups Quick Oats

  • ½ cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate morsels (optional)

  • ½ cup Pecan or Walnut Pieces (optional)

Cooking Instructions:

Pre-heat Oven to 350 Degrees.

Mix the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt, set aside.

In a separate bowl mix together the Sugar, Oil and Water.

Add the Applesauce and Vanilla. Mix Well.

Pour the Sugar Mix into the Center of the Flour Mix. Mix Well.

Add the Oats. Mix Well.

Add the Chocolate and Nuts. Mix Well

Scoop the Cookie Dough by the tablespoon onto a parchment lined Cookie Sheet.

Bake for 15 minutes.

Let Cool for a few minutes
